I have been trying this on my Mac and my iPhone but it does not work on either. I had no problem with Hotmail and Gmail, both accounts were added to Canary Mail with no problem. But my iCloud account will not be added. Every time I enter my app-specific password it does not get past the authenticating part. It always ends up telling me "please check username/password. I have tried on all my apple devices many many times but it does not work. I am using CanaryMail through Setapp.
I second this, as I'm having the exact same issue. I've even tried revoking and re-creating an app-specific password for Canary, and it still doesn't work. I can't speak for you or your phone, but ever since I updated to iOS 14 the other day, my iPhone is acting weird and getting temporarily 'stuck' a lot. . .as if the processor can't handle this new iOS or something. A number of my apps are not loading correctly or functioning as before in minute ways, etc. Needless to say, I'm due for an upgrade anyway and waiting for this new 12 to come out soon!
Even with an app specific key, I'm stuck after validating IMAP. Can't complete checking SMTP settings.
